Julie G Nail Polish

Can I tell you how excited I am to finally get my hands on a few of the Julie G nail polishes??!! Ever since Julie announced that her polish collection had launched I have been obsessed with getting my hands on some of these beauties. The collection is sold at Rite Aid. I do not have this chain near my house in Texas, but I knew I had seen the store close to my house in California. Needless to say, less than 4 hours after landing in California, I had my hands on 4 beautiful colors to wear this summer.

The colors that I chose on my first shopping trip are:
Julie's Fave: creamy coral
Gelato in Venice: creamy mint green
Fairytale: creamy lilac
My Private Palace: bright yellow shimmer in a frosted type base

The Julie G line of polishes are made by Jessie's Girl Cosmetics. If you don't have a Rite Aid store close to you, they can be purchased at the Jessie's Girl website. The polishes retail for $3.99 each and are available in 27 beautiful colors.

Going Beachy

I gave up sunning myself on the beach years ago. I can honestly say that I wish had never put on a drop of suntan oil in my life. If only I had known then what I know now... How often do we say these words? My daughters have beautiful pale skin and I do everything I can to tell them to embrace it. I am sure that when they are my age they will thank me. In the meantime I sound like a broken record.

My Friday's Fancies outfit shows what I would wear to the beach today. Sunscreen with a very high spf and sunglasses are a must. I stay under an umbrella and avoid the sun as best I can. I really enjoy the calmness of the beach and listening to the waves. Being prepared is key.

As I write this post I am at my beach house in California. This is not your typical beach weather though. The daytime temperatures are in the mid 60's dipping down into the 50's in the evening. The sounds I hear while here are the sounds of barking seals. I wear jeans and a sweatshirt, not the fun outfit shown below. Funny thing is that I love it just the same!

Now that I am writing my blog and you are here to read it, I thought I would share some information about ME! My name is Stacie. I am a happily married stay at home mom of 3 teens who keep me very busy, but I LOVE every minute of it! I live in Texas, where I have been since 1987. My Crush Outfit + Giveaway Winner

I have a crush on white skinny jeans these days!  I love them because they can be dressed up or dressed down.  You can pair them with almost any style shirt in any color.  I love them best with strappy sandals and a coordinating handbag.  Needless to say, this is my "go to" outfit of choice from Easter until Labor Day when I sadly put my white pants away.

My Life...

I decided to add this section to my blog so that I have a place to write about the events in my life that mean so much to me. I think it will also be a great place to vent and express my feelings so that I am not keeping things bottled up inside.

I suppose the best place to start here is to tell what I am currently going through. I am at a really tough place in my life in that I am facing the reality that my parents might not live much longer. My mom has been battling melanoma for nearly 3 years now. Her cancer has spread despite several different treatments. My dad has had many different illnesses over the years including kidney failure, a broken hip and heart disease. He undergoes kidney dialysis three days a week. You always know that these days will come, but when the reality of it all sets in, it is heartbreaking.

Remember to show your loved ones how much they mean to you every single day!!

Short + Sweet

Short and Sweet is the theme for this week's Friday's Fancies. I don't care for my legs, therefore I NEVER wear shorts. However, if I did these would be two outfits I would go for in a heartbeat. My New Blog Design
