My Favorite Makeup Brushes

Everyone has their favorite makeup brushes, and these would be mine.  They are the Sigma Precision Brushes.  You can order them as a kit (set of all 4) or individually.  The kit is $49 or they can be ordered individually for $14 each.  These brushes are the perfect size allowing for precise application of products such as concealer, eye shadow, or highlighter.
Brushes shown from left to right are: P80 Precision Flat, P82 Precision Round, P84 Precision Angled and P86 Precision Tapered.  All of these brushes can be used on the face or on the eyes.  They can be used with powder makeup, cream makeup and even foundation.  I use them all over my face to apply a variety of products.  I also have these brushes in the Synthetic Face Kit size.  They are also favorites for applying my foundations.  They are $16 each.
Brushes from other companies that I use on a regular basis that I am loving are the 219 Pencil Brush from MAC.  This brush is $24.50 and was one of my very first makeup brush purchases. It is great for blending out your eyeliner and also for creating a smoky looking eye.
The brushes from Real Techniques are also favorites of mine.  In particular I find the Stippling Brush to be a standout.  This dual fiber brush is my go-to brush for applying cream blushes, which I have been wearing a lot lately. I know that many others use this brush to apply foundation and really love the finish with it.  At $10, this brush is a must have for everyone.
Lastly I will talk about a favorite from the Sephora brand.  My current favorite eyeliner brush that I could not live without is the #15 Classic Angled Liner Brush.  It is a very thin nylon bristle brush for applying the most precise eyeliner.  I use this brush with gel liners and cake liners.  I have complete control of the liner with this brush and can apply a very thin line or add thickness when desired.  So, what's your favorite makeup brush and why?

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Review

If you watch my Youtube videos you know that I am trying to learn how to perfect the winged eyeliner look. It was recommended to me that I start out using a cream liner. Of course I could not find a cream liner in my collection and had to purchase a new one. Since I had so much success with the Maybelline brand of cosmetics lately I chose one from this company to use during my practice. This one cost $6.99 at CVS drugstore.

The package contains one pot of gel eyeliner with a nice little eyeliner brush. I purchased the color Blackest Black. The package states that this eyeliner is "smudgeproof" and "waterproof."  My first impression of this eyeliner is "wow"! The product has a nice creamy consistency. The color is very bold. It was very easy to apply along my upper lash line. Now I just need to practice, practice, practice until I perfect the technique and can produce the look I want. This product gets a thumbs up from me!

Welcome to 2012 & My New Blog!

Hi Everyone!
I decided to start a new blog with the new year. My friend Azra helped me with the design. I think she did a great job! I am not as "techy" as I would like to be. Perhaps that is something else I might learn in the new year.
For my new blog I would like to talk mostly about makeup. Not a big surprise, right?! Please let me know if there are any topics or reviews of particular products you are interested in.
     See you all soon!
