Going Beachy

I gave up sunning myself on the beach years ago. I can honestly say that I wish had never put on a drop of suntan oil in my life. If only I had known then what I know now... How often do we say these words? My daughters have beautiful pale skin and I do everything I can to tell them to embrace it. I am sure that when they are my age they will thank me. In the meantime I sound like a broken record.

My Friday's Fancies outfit shows what I would wear to the beach today. Sunscreen with a very high spf and sunglasses are a must. I stay under an umbrella and avoid the sun as best I can. I really enjoy the calmness of the beach and listening to the waves. Being prepared is key.

As I write this post I am at my beach house in California. This is not your typical beach weather though. The daytime temperatures are in the mid 60's dipping down into the 50's in the evening. The sounds I hear while here are the sounds of barking seals. I wear jeans and a sweatshirt, not the fun outfit shown below. Funny thing is that I love it just the same!
